Nigerian singer and social media personality Darlington Okoye, known as Speed Darlington, has denied allegations that led the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) to declare him wanted. The agency listed him on June 27 over accusations of rape, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking.
In a video posted on Instagram, Speed Darlington dismissed the claims as baseless and threatened legal action if the wanted notice is not retracted. He challenged NAPTIP to provide evidence and questioned the identity of any complainants.
He accused the agency of responding to online hate rather than facts and criticized the manner in which the allegations were publicized. Speed Darlington asserted that he has committed no crime, describing the accusations as attempts to gain social media clout.
He further mocked the agency’s summons, stating he would require a payment of 2.5 million Naira plus travel expenses to comply, emphasizing that without evidence, appearing before them would be a waste of time.
Speed Darlington also dismissed claims of cyberstalking and bullying, insisting he never targeted anyone personally. He attributed the backlash to jealousy from younger women who resent his popularity and outspoken nature.
