A Delta State High Court sitting in Asaba has ordered the remand of dismissed Assistant Superintendent of Police ASP Nuhu Usman and four other dismissed officers at the Ogwashi-Uku Correctional Centre over the alleged extrajudicial killing of 28-year-old Oghenemine Ogidi, popularly known as OG Millan.

The officers appeared before Justice Marshal Onome Umukoro on Monday, June 1, 2026, in Charge No. DTHC/ASB/CR/M/66/2026. They include ASP Onoloko Dauroupamo, ASP Okoh Kelechi, Inspector Goodluck Kingsley, and Inspector Omonigho Ahweyevu. The judge ordered that the defendants be remanded for 15 working days pending legal advice from the Delta State Attorney-General and directed that subsequent proceedings be conducted virtually.

The case stems from the April 26, 2026 shooting of Ogidi in Effurun, Delta State. A viral video showed the suspect, who was handcuffed and seated on the ground, being shot by ASP Usman despite pleading for his life. The incident sparked nationwide outrage and condemnation.

Following investigations, the Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu approved the dismissal of the officers and recommended criminal prosecution, citing gross violation of Force Order 237 governing the use of firearms. The Police Service Commission has ratified the dismissals, and the case file has been forwarded to the Attorney General of the Federation for prosecution.
