Despite the club not adding to their domestic trophy cabinet during his time, Ronaldo has delivered an impressive goal tally. He netted 35 goals in 41 appearances last season, finishing as the league’s top scorer for a second straight year. Overall, he has scored 99 goals in 111 games for the club.
Ronaldo is also edging closer to a historic milestone — reaching 1,000 career goals. His current total stands at 938 for both club and country.
Fresh from helping his national team win the Nations League recently, Ronaldo now has his sights set on a record-breaking sixth World Cup appearance next summer.
Just a month ago, he hinted at a possible departure after a trophyless season that saw his team finish third. This fueled speculation that he might leave the league where he became the highest-paid player in football history, earning an annual salary of £177 million.
There were also suggestions of a move to a Club World Cup side after his team failed to qualify for the tournament. However, Ronaldo confirmed he received offers from participating clubs but chose to turn them down.
His decision to stay until at least 2027 likely closes the door on any return to Europe’s top leagues but secures a future that remains highly rewarding both on and off the pitch.
