Arsenal are prioritizing a defensive addition this summer, with 20-year-old Spaniard Cristhian Mosquera emerging as their preferred option. Capable of playing both centre-back and right-back, the versatile defender is seen as an ideal fit.

While there has been consideration for Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi, concerns over limited game time behind Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba may affect any potential move.

Mosquera, a Spain Under-21 international, has already accumulated 90 senior appearances and was a key figure last season, completing 90 minutes in 37 out of 38 league matches.

Arsenal’s transfer activity has ramped up significantly, with a deal for Brentford midfielder Christian Norgaard close to completion. A fee of up to £15 million has been agreed, and the Denmark international is set for a medical.

The club is also finalizing the signing of goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, adding further depth to the squad.

In addition, 18-year-old Myles Lewis-Skelly has committed his future to the club by signing a five-year contract after making 39 appearances last season and establishing himself in the first team. Fellow defender Gabriel also penned a long-term extension earlier this month.
