President Bola Tinubu has approved the recruitment of 30,150 new personnel into Nigeria’s paramilitary agencies under the supervision of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB). An additional 209 staff will also be recruited for the CDCFIB Secretariat.

The recruitment breakdown is as follows:

  • Nigerian Correctional Service: 5,150 personnel
  • Nigeria Immigration Service: 10,000 personnel
  • Federal Fire Service: 5,000 personnel
  • Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC): 10,000 personnel
  • CDCFIB Secretariat: 209 personnel

While the presidential approval has been granted, the CDCFIB has clarified that the official recruitment process has not yet commenced. The Board is currently seeking approval to reduce the standard six-week advertisement period in national newspapers to three weeks to expedite the process. Once the waiver is obtained, recruitment will be publicly announced in credible national newspapers.

The CDCFIB has warned job seekers to beware of scammers and false information circulating on social media. The Board emphasized that the recruitment process will be fair, transparent, and completely free of charge. Applicants are advised not to pay anyone for recruitment and to report any suspicious activity.

The recruitment exercise is expected to begin soon, with a three-week application period once officially announced. Interested Nigerians are encouraged to await official notifications and avoid relying on unverified sources.
