London, United Kingdom, 30 October 2026 — The International Institute of Leadership & Management (IILM) will formally inaugurate its Advisory Council and Professional Standards Council on Saturday, 31 October 2026, at a virtual ceremony beginning at 12:00 noon UK time.
Under the theme “Laying the Foundation: Leadership That Builds the Future”, the ceremony marks a significant step in the Institute’s development of its institutional governance, international engagement and professional standards.
Two councils with complementary responsibilities
The IILM Advisory Council will guide the Institute on strategy, reputation, international relationships, corporate partnerships, stakeholder engagement and growth. Its remit is to provide informed counsel as IILM extends its professional community and develops new leadership initiatives.
The Professional Standards Council will safeguard the quality of IILM’s training, programmes, ethical frameworks, Fellowship eligibility, professional development and assessment. The council’s role is central to maintaining consistent, credible and transparent standards across the Institute’s activities.
Although their responsibilities differ, both councils share the objective of strengthening IILM’s institutional foundations and supporting its long-term contribution to leadership and management practice.
Formal inauguration and oath of office
The one-hour online ceremony will begin with the British National Anthem and the IILM Institutional Anthem, followed by opening formalities and a presidential welcome address from C. Titilola Aboyade-Cole, Founder and Global President.
Members of both councils will be formally presented before a barrister administers the Institute’s oath of office. The President will subsequently declare both councils inaugurated. The programme also provides for acceptance remarks from council representatives, a presidential charge and closing acknowledgements.
The oath-taking is intended to underline the responsibilities of service, professional integrity, accountability and stewardship associated with membership of the councils.
Developing ethical and character-led leadership
IILM is an international professional institute for leadership and management.
