Participants at the International Institute of Leadership and Management council inauguration held virtually on 31 October 2026.

IILM inaugurated its Advisory and Professional Standards Councils on 31 October 2026, introduced coordinators for three regions and invited the public to take one complimentary leadership course without membership.

The International Institute of Leadership and Management (IILM) inaugurated its Advisory Council and Professional Standards Council on Saturday, 31 October 2026, at a virtual ceremony attended by the Institute’s leadership, council appointees, legal practitioners, administrative staff and other invited participants.

The inauguration, conducted through Zoom, formally brought the two councils into the Institute’s developing leadership structure and introduced its regional coordinators for Europe, Africa and North America. The gathering provided an opportunity for officials based in different locations to participate in the proceedings without the need for a single physical venue.

The Founder and Global President, Coach Titilola Aboyade-Cole, joined the ceremony alongside senior officials and members of the newly constituted councils. According to the account supplied by the Institute, the event was well attended and ran to its planned schedule.

A central moment in the programme was the administration of the oath by Barrister Bola Ibitola, the Institute’s Legal Adviser. The oath-taking marked the formal assumption of council responsibilities and underscored the significance of the appointments within IILM’s organisational framework.

Barrister Oluwatobi Sanwo, the Institute Secretary, was among those present. Other barristers, administrative staff, council members and institutional leaders also participated. Their attendance brought together the legal, governance and operational arms of the Institute for the inauguration.

Advisory Council

The Advisory Council is chaired by Mr Banji Ayiloge, with Mandy Balogun named as Scribe. Mrs Lorraine Bulger and Otunba Arc. Bolaji Falase are listed as members in the Institute’s inauguration materials.

The council is intended to contribute to the Institute’s development through advice, professional experience and institutional guidance. Its members bring different perspectives to a body whose effectiveness will depend on the responsibilities and working arrangements established for it.

Professional Standards Council

Mrs Olushola Adekemi Karin Keshinro chairs the Professional Standards Council. Mr Sam Daramola serves as Scribe, while Ms Veslyn McLean is listed as a member.

The creation of a separate professional standards body signals an intention to address questions of professional conduct, quality and accountability within the Institute’s work. Those ambitions will ultimately be measured by the council’s programmes, published standards and the practical value of its oversight.

Regional coordination across three continents

The Institute also presented Kay Adeisa as Regional Coordinator for Europe, Omogbolahan Idris Ajala as Regional Coordinator for Africa and Sheyi Oyelowo as Regional Coordinator for North America.

These appointments establish named points of regional coordination and suggest how IILM plans to organise its engagement beyond one country. Their significance for members and prospective partners will become clearer as the coordinators begin implementing regional programmes and communicating opportunities to participate.

Keynote address and responsibilities ahead

Ambassador (Dr) Ayodeji Oyedokun, FIIM, delivered the keynote address at the ceremony. His contribution formed part of a programme centred on the responsibilities of the Institute’s incoming council members. A detailed account of his recommendations is being reserved until the text of his speech can be checked against the delivered address.

The newly inaugurated officials now face the practical work that follows formal appointments: clarifying responsibilities, agreeing priorities, coordinating across locations and demonstrating how their roles can improve professional development and institutional service.

Develop. Lead. Make an Impact.

IILM’s official motto

For the Institute’s leadership, the inauguration also creates an opportunity to connect its guiding motto with visible results. Transparent programmes, accessible training and constructive engagement with professionals would give members and the wider public ways to assess the work of the new councils.

Invitation to take one complimentary leadership course

Alongside its new governance arrangements, IILM is inviting members of the public to explore its leadership education opportunities. The Institute says it has uploaded five different courses and is offering each interested individual the opportunity to take one complimentary course, without paying a course fee and without first becoming a member.

This arrangement is designed to allow people to experience one of the Institute’s learning opportunities before deciding whether they wish to apply for membership or pursue additional professional development. The complimentary offer is for one course per person, not all five courses.

The invitation is open to people who want to strengthen their understanding of leadership, whether they work in education, enterprise, public service, civil society or community organisations. The Institute’s invitation does not require participants to join IILM after completing their chosen complimentary course.

Membership and nominations

IILM is also encouraging prospective members to explore the Institute and inviting the public to nominate individuals whose leadership, integrity, professional contribution or service to society merit consideration. Such nominations could help bring experienced and emerging leaders to the Institute’s attention, subject to its applicable assessment processes.

For prospective members, the new councils provide a clearer picture of the leadership arrangements through which the Institute intends to guide its activities. For those interested primarily in learning, the complimentary course offers an initial opportunity to engage with IILM without a membership commitment.

Interested individuals can learn more about the Institute, seek information on selecting a complimentary course, explore membership and enquire about nominating outstanding leaders through its official website, www.iilm.net.

With its councils inaugurated and regional representatives identified, IILM moves from the ceremony to the work of putting its leadership structure into practice. The measure of that next stage will be how the Institute’s programmes and appointed officials translate its stated ambitions into opportunities and outcomes for the people it serves.
