Don Jazzy has opened applications for a 2027 tech scholarship with TS Academy, offering successful candidates tuition discounts of up to 100 per cent. Selected applicants will still have to pay an application fee.
The Nigerian music producer and Mavin Records founder unveiled the initiative on Monday. Applications close on 30 November 2026, according to the linked form. A dedicated programme website directs prospective students to choose their preferred course and request any additional support.
The academy’s main scholarship page gives 28 February 2027 as the cohort start. Its linked application form also offers preferred starts on 30 March and 31 July. Applicants may select one course, with an opportunity to change their choice before the cohort begins. Most programmes are described as beginner-friendly.
Available subjects include artificial intelligence and automation, data analytics, cybersecurity, software development and product design. The programme also lists content creation, digital marketing, virtual assistance, project management and product management, alongside data science, DevOps engineering, graphics design and frontend and backend development.
The award is not an automatic promise to cover every applicant’s full tuition. TS Academy says the reduction depends on the scholarship offered after an application has been reviewed. Successful candidates will receive their offers and enrolment instructions through the contact details they provide.
The programme website distinguishes tuition support from its application charge. Even recipients offered a full tuition scholarship must pay an application fee, although selected candidates receive a discount on the standard charge.
The scholarship page does not state the discounted fee. A separate general academy payment page lists ₦26,500, payable in full or two ₦13,250 instalments. It does not identify that amount as the discounted Don Jazzy scholarship charge.
Laptop and internet assistance will also be selective. The academy advertises 50 laptops and data support for 500 students, while stating that eligibility, genuine need and available resources determine who receives help. Requesting equipment or data does not guarantee an award.
The application form offers online, in-person and hybrid learning options. Applicants can also indicate equipment or data needs in the form. The academy says beneficiaries of additional support will be selected and contacted after the cohort resumes. Its advertised training package includes practical projects, mentoring, and internship and job-placement support.
Born Michael Collins Ajereh, he founded Mavin in Lagos in 2012 and built a business associated with artists including Rema and Ayra Starr.
Universal Music Group announced a majority investment in Mavin Global in February 2024. Its announcement described the label’s existing Artist Academy, which trains emerging performers in music and performance, and a separate executive leadership programme for developing music-industry talent.
Those music programmes form part of Mavin’s artist-development work. The new scholarship is a partnership with TS Academy, which is handling the technology-course applications and the review of candidates’ eligibility.
The linked form values the full tuition scholarship at ₦447,000. It asks applicants to submit only once. The application route is available at donjazzy.tsacademyonline.com. The form asks about employment or study status, educational background and previous technology experience.
