Unbeaten welterweight king Terence Crawford is making a bold leap—jumping two weight classes to challenge Mexican superstar Canelo Álvarez for the undisputed super-middleweight crown in Las Vegas on September 13.

Canelo, back in his favored division, recently outpointed William Scull to reclaim all four belts. Now, he’s aiming to prove that his power and experience will be too much for the slick and skillful Crawford.

“I’ve been the underdog and the favorite—neither matters,” said Canelo. “What matters is discipline. I’ll give my all in training camp. This fight won’t be easy, but I’ve been in Crawford’s shoes before—moving up in weight. When you’re a great fighter, that doesn’t scare you. I believe my power, experience, and natural size give me the edge.”

Crawford, undeterred, sees this as a defining moment:
“This is my homecoming fight. It fuels me to deliver a statement performance. I plan to win—no matter how it comes.”

Canelo echoed the sentiment, seeing the bout as a landmark in his legacy:
“This will be one of the best fights of my career. I live for these moments. I love boxing. I love winning. I’m already excited to step into the ring.”
