The Nigerian military has declared Halilu Buzu wanted for his involvement in terrorist activities, illegal arms supplies, illegal mining, and cattle rustling. This announcement was made during a media briefing held in Abuja by Major General Edward Buba, Director of Operations.

Major General Buba emphasized the severity of Buzu’s offenses, stating, “The military has declared Halilu Buzu wanted for terrorist activities, illegal arms supplies, illegal mining, and cattle rustling.”

Buzu, a resident of Zamfara State and a native of Niger, has been evading capture by frequently escaping to Niger Republic after carrying out attacks in Nigeria. Despite his elusive nature, efforts are underway to collaborate with authorities in Niger Republic to apprehend him and bring him to justice.

Furthermore, General Buba highlighted the recent successes of the Nigerian military in rescuing 253 kidnapped victims within the last two weeks. These achievements were made possible through various operations, including Operations Y-Watch, Nokia-Fighting Patrols, and Operations Delta State.

Additionally, the military reported significant progress in combating insurgents, with 227 terrorists neutralized and 529 arrested. Eleven individuals involved in oil theft were also apprehended during this period.

General Buba underscored the military’s unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism, stating, “We relentlessly target these categories of terrorists such that we will be able to take them out, and take them off the battlefield as soon as possible.” The military remains steadfast in its efforts to ensure the safety and security of the Nigerian populace, emphasizing the urgency of decisively addressing terrorist threats.
