The Jigawa State Police Command has announced that enforcement of tinted glass permits will begin across Nigeria on October 2, 2025.

This was disclosed on Saturday, September 20, by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Shi’isu Adam, in Dutse.

Online registration and application for the permits are already ongoing, and motorists are urged to follow the outlined procedures on the official portal, possap.gov.ng, to ensure a seamless process.

Applicants must create an account using their National Identification Number (NIN), Bank Verification Number (BVN), or Tax Identification Number (TIN), verify the account via email, log in, select the “Tinted Glass Permit” service, and upload vehicle details along with necessary supporting documents.

SP Adam stressed the importance of carefully confirming all details before submitting requests and making payments as directed on the portal. Following submission, vehicle inspection and fingerprint biometric capturing will be scheduled at designated Police Intelligence Departments.

Specifically for Jigawa State applicants, biometric capturing will be free of charge at the State Intelligence Department, Police Headquarters in Dutse.

The police have cautioned the public against engaging middlemen or unauthorized persons seeking to exploit applicants during this process, emphasizing that this initiative promotes transparency and enhances road safety.

SP Adam called for full public cooperation to ensure smooth enforcement and warned that non-compliance could lead to legal consequences.

Motorists are strongly advised to begin their registration promptly ahead of the enforcement date to avoid penalties.

This extension follows earlier extensions and increased public compliance, allowing for meticulous scrutiny of applications to ensure permits are issued only to eligible individuals, balancing public convenience with national security considerations.
