The Taraba State Government has dismissed rumors claiming that the incumbent Deputy Speaker of the State Assembly, Hamman-Adama Adamu, has been nominated as the new Deputy Governor. In a press briefing, the State Commissioner for Information, Zainab Jalingo, described the claims as false, misleading, and unfounded.

The government emphasized that there is no vacancy in the office of the Deputy Governor, affirming that the current Deputy Governor, Aminu Alkali, remains the duly elected officeholder. The statement urged the public to remain calm and to rely solely on verified information from official government communication channels.

Highlighting constitutional procedures, the government noted that the process for replacing a Deputy Governor requires due legislative and constitutional steps, none of which have been initiated or contemplated at this time.

The Taraba State Government reiterated its commitment to good governance and stated it will not be distracted by baseless speculations circulating on social and traditional media.
