The Lagos Free Zone (LFZ), Nigeria’s first private Special Economic Zone, has received a significant endorsement from the United States Diplomatic Mission in Nigeria, with the US ambassador expressing readiness to drive more Foreign Direct Investments into the zone.

During his visit, the ambassador praised the LFZ’s master plan, infrastructure, and the presence of major American brands such as Kellogg’s and Colgate, which already have operations within the zone.

Located in Lagos State and promoted by Singapore-based Tolaram, the LFZ covers 860 hectares and features world-class infrastructure and a streamlined single clearance window to facilitate ease of doing business.

The upcoming U.S.-Africa Business Summit in Angola was highlighted as a strategic opportunity to connect US investors with the LFZ, further strengthening economic ties between the two nations.

The Chief Executive Officer of the LFZ welcomed the ambassador and emphasized the zone’s status as a preferred investment destination, citing its infrastructure and attractive incentives for businesses.

She called on the US diplomatic community to encourage American firms to consider investing in the LFZ, noting the zone’s positive impact on Nigeria’s economic growth, increased business activity, and the creation of thousands of jobs.

She also acknowledged the Federal Government’s ongoing Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project, describing it as a major stimulus for the LFZ that will enhance cargo evacuation and logistics, further boosting the zone’s appeal to investors.
