The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has dismissed 38 senior officers and 20 others for gross misconduct. The personnel, including commandants, deputy commandants, and assistant commandants, were found guilty of various offences, including corruption, abuse of office, and indiscipline.

The NSCDC’s spokesperson, Emmanuel Okeh, confirmed the dismissals, stating that the action was taken after thorough investigations and disciplinary proceedings. The dismissed officers have been stripped of their ranks and benefits, effective immediately.

The NSCDC emphasized its commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism and integrity among its personnel. The action is part of efforts to reposition the corps and enhance its effectiveness in protecting national assets and ensuring public safety.

The dismissed officers include those who were found to have engaged in corrupt practices, abused their authority, or compromised the corps’ values. The NSCDC vowed to continue rooting out corruption and misconduct within its ranks.
