Lagos State Deputy Governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, is scheduled to unveil his manifesto and campaign theme for the 2027 election on Friday, 30 October 2026, at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts, formerly the National Arts Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos.
The presentation, promoted as The Lagos Promise (Ìlérí Èkó), is intended to outline Hamzat’s proposed policy direction for Lagos State, including economic development, infrastructure, public services and opportunities for residents.
The Director-General of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu–Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Campaign Council, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, announced the arrangements at a press conference in Ikeja on Sunday, 25 October. The event is being organised under the PBAT-KOH campaign structure.
Campaign highlights continuity and inclusion
According to the campaign council, the proposed manifesto will address issues including transportation, housing, healthcare, security, education and environmental management. The council describes continuity, shared progress and inclusivity as central principles of the programme.
Obanikoro said the campaign aims to build on development initiatives established by successive Lagos administrations while addressing areas where improvement is needed. These are the campaign’s stated priorities, with details and implementation measures expected to be presented at the launch.
The campaign council also said consultations with traditional rulers, religious leaders, market representatives, young people, professionals, artisans and other stakeholders had contributed to the manifesto’s preparation.
Hamzat and Sonayon-James
Hamzat is contesting the 2027 Lagos governorship election alongside his running mate, Princess Damilola Sonayon-James. A promotional message for the launch said the two candidates would present their plans and vision for the state.
In remarks publicised ahead of the event, Hamzat identified completing and connecting rail lines, improving road and water transportation, expanding affordable housing, strengthening security and upgrading healthcare as among his priorities across Lagos State’s local government areas and local council development areas.
The full manifesto is expected to offer residents and stakeholders a fuller opportunity to examine the proposals, including how the campaign intends to address practical challenges facing the state.
Invitation-only event with live broadcasts
The launch is scheduled for 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, 30 October, at the Main Dome of the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts in Iganmu. The event flyer asks invited guests to be seated by 2.30 p.m. and states that the gate will close at 2.45 p.m.
The organisers say attendance at the venue will be strictly by invitation because of seating limits. Television and digital broadcasts are planned to enable members of the public to follow the presentation remotely.
The campaign council has said digital copies of the manifesto will be made available after the presentation, enabling residents to read the proposals and submit feedback through its official channels.
The launch will provide an opportunity for voters to examine the APC candidate’s policy commitments ahead of the 2027 Lagos governorship election. The proposed programme and arrangements were announced before the event; the presentation had not yet taken place at the time of writing.
