The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council has accused the African Democratic Congress (ADC) of failing to pay its workers for more than 12 months, calling on Nigerians to reject the opposition party and its candidates in the 2027 general elections.
In a press statement dated 26 October 2026 and signed by its spokesperson, Dele Alake, the APC campaign council alleged that the ADC National Working Committee, chaired by Senator David Mark, with Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola serving as secretary, had neglected its financial obligations to party employees.
The council condemned the alleged non-payment of salaries, describing it as unacceptable for a political organisation seeking to govern the country.
According to the statement, the alleged failure to pay employees who depend on their wages for daily living raises questions about the party’s commitment to workers’ welfare.
APC criticises Atiku Abubakar over workers’ welfare
The campaign council also directed criticism at former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, whom it identified as the ADC’s presidential candidate.
Alake alleged that employees of Gotel Communications and other businesses associated with Atiku had previously experienced salary delays and protested over outstanding remuneration and benefits.
The council cited these allegations as part of its criticism of the ADC leadership’s administrative and employment practices.
Aregbesola’s Osun salary record questioned
The statement further criticised former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola over salary and pension payments during his eight-year administration.
According to the APC campaign council, the former governor’s administration introduced partial salary payments, including quarter-salary and half-salary arrangements, while pension obligations allegedly remained outstanding.
The council also alleged that some pensioners experienced significant financial hardship during that period.
These assertions were presented by the APC as part of its criticism of Aregbesola’s record and his current role within the ADC.
APC calls on Nigerians to reject ADC candidates
Concluding its statement, the APC Presidential Campaign Council urged Nigerians to consider the alleged treatment of ADC employees when assessing the opposition party’s leadership.
The council argued that political organisations seeking national office should demonstrate sound administration and fulfil their obligations to employees.
It called on Nigerians to reject Atiku Abubakar and other ADC candidates during the 2027 general elections.
The statement was signed by Dele Alake, Spokesperson, APC Presidential Campaign Council, on 26 October 2026.
