Esther Okoronkwo was named the Super Falcons’ Fans Player of the Tournament at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, honoring her exceptional contributions throughout the competition.
The 27-year-old forward showcased outstanding performance by scoring two goals and providing six assists across six appearances. She also earned two Woman of the Match awards for her key role in the team’s success.
The announcement was made on the Super Falcons’ official X account with the caption: “Presenting your #WAFCON2024 Fans’ Player of the Tournament… Esther Okoronkwo, OON. Clutch. Composed. Crowned by the people.”
Okoronkwo was selected ahead of other nominees including Rasheedat Ajibade, Folashade Ijamilusi, Ashleigh Plumptre, Chiwendu Ihezuo, and Jennifer Echegini.
The Super Falcons concluded their impressive campaign by defeating the host nation Morocco 3-2 in a thrilling final to clinch the WAFCON 2024 title.
