The stage is set for the semi-finals of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup following Saturday’s dramatic quarter-final matches.

Real Madrid secured their place in the last four with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Borussia Dortmund. Gonzalo Garcia and Fran Garcia gave Los Blancos an early lead with first-half goals. Dortmund’s Maximilian Beier pulled one back in extra time, but Kylian Mbappe quickly restored Madrid’s two-goal advantage. Despite a red card to Dean Huijsen and a penalty converted by Serhou Guirassy, Dortmund fell short.

Real Madrid will face Paris Saint-Germain in a high-stakes semi-final clash. PSG earlier defeated Bayern Munich 2-0, holding on despite finishing with nine men.

In the other semi-final, Chelsea will take on Fluminense. Chelsea narrowly beat Palmeiras 2-1, while Fluminense advanced by knocking out Saudi club Al-Hilal.

The semi-final matches are scheduled for next Tuesday and Wednesday, promising an exciting conclusion to this year’s expanded Club World Cup.
