Agbara Nla: The Return will open in selected United States cinemas on Friday, 30 October, extending the international release of the Nigerian faith-based film after screenings in Britain and Canada.
Distributor Nile Group announced the expansion, directing audiences to AMC Theatres and Regal Cinemas for tickets. US ticketing platform Atom lists 30 October as the release date, while Regal’s listings include the production among films available at participating venues.
The opening follows a reported $173,650 in overseas earnings across the United Kingdom, Ireland and Canada. Those figures were announced by the distributor and are not an independently audited international box-office total.
In its latest update, Nile Group put the UK and Ireland gross at £86,691 and the Canadian gross at CAD$82,203. The dollar total is the company’s reported combined figure; the underlying receipts were collected in different currencies.
The company has also claimed records for the film’s UK opening and advance bookings among Nollywood productions. The US release brings the production to another market while its existing international cinema run continues.
The expansion offers American audiences the opportunity to see a modern version of one of Mount Zion’s established screen stories. Mike Bamiloye returns as the herbalist Isawuru in a production directed by Damilola Mike-Bamiloye and Joshua Mike-Bamiloye.
The cast includes Aanu Kolade Abiodun, Remilekun Mosiko, Philip Olubakin, Gloria Mike-Bamiloye and David Kola Okeowo. Mount Zion Film Productions made the film in partnership with Circuits and Sozo Films, with Nile Entertainment handling cinema distribution.
The production revisits the conflict between Christian faith and spiritual opposition in the original Agbara Nla story. Its return to cinemas follows more than three decades of circulation of the earlier Mount Zion production.
The current release is the 2026 production, bringing the story back to audiences through a new cast and filmmaking team alongside Bamiloye’s returning performance.
In Nigeria, Nile Entertainment reported that the film had reached ₦408.3 million at the box office in an update issued on Monday. The distributor placed it second among Nollywood releases for 2026 at that point in its run.
Earlier updates had put its Nigerian earnings at ₦307 million. The later figure reflects the distributor’s subsequent reporting and should not be added to the earlier total.
The film attracted attention ahead of its main Nigerian run after the distributor announced more than ₦71 million from preview screenings. That early performance preceded its wider international expansion.
The US release is limited to selected cinemas. The availability of a film on a national ticketing platform does not mean every branch of the chain will show it, and screening times vary between locations.
Houston listings identify AMC Gulf Pointe 30 and AMC Willowbrook 24 among venues opening the film on Friday. Other listings include Regal Majestic, with dates extending into the first week of November.
Audiences can check participating cinemas and individual showtimes through AMC, Regal and Atom before booking. The listings identify the title as Agbara Nla: The Return, distinguishing the new release from the earlier Mount Zion film.
Tickets are sold by participating venues.
