The Federal Government has announced plans to export skilled Nigerian professionals including nurses, teachers, and IT experts to work abroad.

The Minister of State for Labour and Employment made this known, stating that the move is part of efforts to harness the potential of Nigeria’s large youth population and address unemployment.

According to the Minister, Nigeria has an abundance of skilled manpower in healthcare, education, and technology sectors that is in high demand globally.

He added that the government is working on bilateral agreements with several countries to create legal migration pathways for Nigerian professionals, ensuring their welfare and proper remuneration.

This initiative is expected to generate foreign remittances and enhance Nigeria’s global reputation for skilled workforce while curbing illegal migration.
