This week, we lost one of our own. A bright light dimmed too soon. A daughter, a sister, a friend… and a rising star in the Podium Empire family.

Feranmi joined us just over two weeks ago, walking through our doors with quiet confidence and unmistakable purpose. She came alongside her dear friend Nifemi, and together they brought fresh energy, ideas, and a sense of direction that made us all take notice. In just a matter of days, Feranmi became someone we couldn’t imagine doing without. She was scheduled to receive her appointment as our new Food & Beverage Manager on Monday. Instead, we are writing this farewell.

On Friday night, the girls were invited to a birthday celebration, one I myself had been asked to attend. I felt a nudge not to go. Too many signs pointed me home: the nail tech didn’t finish my nails, the car wouldn’t start. I asked them too, “Do you really have to go?” But as young women, they smiled and said they’d be fine. At 1:00 a.m., Feranmi messaged me to say they had arrived safely. She promised to send videos. But they never came.

By morning, the call came. Feranmi had been hit by a vehicle while crossing the expressway. She died in the arms of the same friend she started this journey with; Nifemi. A friend who now carries not just memories, but the weight of goodbye.

Feranmi’s passing is a tragedy we are struggling to understand. She was the only daughter of her mother. One of two children. A family’s pride. A team’s joy. A girl who had dreams, and who was just beginning to see them unfold.

She didn’t get to stay long, but she didn’t leave quietly either. She filled her space with excellence, creativity, laughter, and promise. Everyone noticed her. Everyone felt her. And everyone is mourning her.

At Podium Empire, we talk a lot about legacy. Feranmi’s legacy is not in how long she worked with us, but in how deeply she connected, how much she cared, and how beautifully she served, even in such a short time.

We honour her.
We miss her.
We will carry her name in how we move forward, with heart, with excellence, and with the same quiet fire she brought into our space.

Feranmi, we will not forget you.
Rest peacefully, dear one.

With love,
Titilola Aboyade-Cole
