Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, has expelled a female student, Goddy-Mbakwe Chimamaka Precious, for allegedly assaulting a lecturer in the Department of Theatre and Film Studies.
The decision followed a recommendation by the Student Disciplinary Committee, which ruled that Precious’ actions constituted a gross violation of the university’s disciplinary regulations.
The incident, which went viral on social media, reportedly involved Precious slapping Dr. Chukwudi Okoye after he interrupted her while she was recording a TikTok video on campus.
According to a university memo, the expulsion takes immediate effect, and Precious has been instructed to vacate the school premises and return any university property in her possession.
The UNIZIK administration emphasized that the move was necessary to maintain discipline and address concerns over student misconduct on campus.
