The United States saw an exceptional surge in wealth in 2024, with more than 379,000 individuals becoming new dollar millionaires—averaging over 1,000 new millionaires every day—according to UBS’s 2025 Global Wealth Report. This growth contributed significantly to a 4.6% rise in global net worth, with the Americas leading the increase at over 11%, driven by a stable U.S. dollar and strong financial markets.
The report highlights that the U.S. accounted for nearly 40% of all global millionaires, reinforcing its position as the world’s wealth capital. While the U.S. dominated the millionaire segment, Greater China—including mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan—led in the mid-tier wealth bracket, comprising individuals with net worths between $100,000 and $1 million.
Despite this growth, over 80% of adults worldwide still have a net worth below $100,000, and only about 1.6% of the global adult population holds wealth of $1 million or more. UBS projects that average wealth per adult will continue to rise steadily over the next five years, primarily driven by gains in the United States and Greater China.
This report reflects a broader rebound in global wealth following a turbulent 2022, with growth concentrated in regions boasting resilient economies and robust equity markets.
