Multiple fatalities have been confirmed following a catastrophic tanker explosion on the morning of Monday, August 11, 2025, in the Dan Magaji area of Zaria along the Kaduna–Kano expressway bypass, near Rochas Foundation School between Kwangila and Dan Magaji.

Eyewitnesses, including security analyst Zagazola Makama, reported that the tragic collision involved two fuel-laden tankers and two passenger-filled Golf cars.

The impact triggered a series of five loud explosions, resulting in massive flames and thick black smoke engulfing the highway.

All occupants of the passenger cars died at the scene except for one driver, who survived but suffered severe burns.

Emergency responders, including firefighters, security personnel, and road safety officials, swiftly cordoned off the area, advising motorists to seek alternative routes as rescue and recovery operations are ongoing.
