Nigeria’s Super Falcons have retained their 36th position in the most recent FIFA women’s world rankings, as announced on August 7, 2025.

Their standing follows a stellar performance at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) held in Morocco, where they secured their 10th continental title, extending their record as Africa’s leading women’s football team.

The Super Falcons remain the top-ranked women’s national team on the African continent. Morocco, the tournament runners-up, stand as Africa’s third-best team but have slipped to 64th position globally in the FIFA rankings.

South Africa’s Banyana Banyana, former WAFCON champions, hold the 54th spot worldwide and maintain second place within Africa. Ghana’s Black Queens, who finished third in the tournament, have dropped to 67th in the global rankings.

This ranking outcome highlights the Super Falcons’ continued dominance in African women’s football and their strong presence on the world stage.

The official ranking reflects team performances, match results, and competitive stature following key continental tournaments like WAFCON.
