Delta State College of Nursing Sciences, Agbor, has issued a query to a student, Nurse Osato Edobor, for posting a video on social media showing students disagreeing with an MC’s song during the visit of Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

During the event, which took place at the Dome Event Center in Asaba as part of the Renewed Hope Initiative Health Programme, the MC led a song saying, “Na our mama be this oo, we no get another one.” However, the students in attendance responded differently, chanting, “Na your mama be this ooo eeh.”

Edobor’s video capturing the moment was shared on social media, drawing the ire of the school management. In a query titled “Query for Divulging Unauthorised Online Publication/Video on Social Media (TikTok, Facebook, etc.),” and signed by the Provost, Evbodaghe Rita Ogonne, the institution described the act as a violation of the student handbook and warned that disciplinary action could be taken against Edobor.

The query states: “It has come to the notice of the school authority that you, Student Nurse Osato Edobor, on the 25th of March 2025 during an official visit of the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, at the Dome Event Center, Asaba, for the Renewed Hope Initiative Health Programme and distribution of 10,000 Professional Kits (Crocs and Scrubs) to Midwives in each Geopolitical Zone of Nigeria South-South Zone, was found to engage in a malicious act of recording/singing and posting an unofficial response to the song during the arrival of the First Lady (found on your TikTok page).”

The management further referenced the student handbook, citing Standardised Disciplinary Action for Some Punishable Offences No. 8, Page 21, as the basis for the action against Edobor. She has been given 24 hours to respond in writing, providing three copies of her explanation on why she should not face disciplinary measures.
