Authorities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have announced that the 2025 Arafah sermon will be broadcast live in Hausa, Yoruba, Fulani, and 34 other languages. This initiative aims to enable pilgrims and listeners worldwide to follow the sermon in their native languages, enhancing understanding and inclusivity.

According to a message from the Saudi authorities, the Hajj Khutbah 1446 will be translated into 34 languages on Thursday, 9 Dhul Hijjah 1446 (corresponding to June 5, 2025). The languages include Arabic, Urdu, English, French, Indonesian, Persian (Farsi), Hausa, Chinese (Mandarin), Russian, Bengali, Turkish, Malay (Bahasa Melayu), Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, German, Filipino (Tagalog), Amharic (Ethiopia), Bosnian, Hindi, Dutch, Thai, Malayalam, Swahili, Pashto, Tamil, Azerbaijani, Swedish, Uzbek, Albanian, Fulani (Fula), Somali, Rohingya, and Yoruba.

The broadcast is designed to convey Islam’s message of tolerance to a global audience in their native tongues, fostering better communication and understanding between Muslims and non-Muslims alike.

The Kingdom had earlier announced the sighting of the Dhul Hijjah crescent on May 27, marking June 5 as the Day of Arafat, with Eid-el-Kabir scheduled for June 6, 2025. This multilingual broadcast reflects Saudi Arabia’s commitment to making the spiritual experience of Hajj accessible and meaningful to Muslims around the world.
