Students were evacuated from Arena Academy in Birmingham after a bomb threat was reported, prompting a swift police response and the activation of emergency protocols.
West Midlands Police confirmed that officers attended the school in the Great Barr area following an email alert about the threat. Although authorities later stated there was no indication of a credible danger to students or staff, police remained on site as a precautionary measure.
The school quickly issued an alert to parents, informing them of the evacuation and steps being taken to ensure pupils’ safety. A message from the nearby Priestley Smith School read: “We have received a message from Priestley Smith School this morning informing us there has been a bomb threat.
We are not sure if this is a credible threat but we’re following our protocols and currently evacuating to Turnbury Park. Police are also supporting us. We will keep you fully informed.”
Following the evacuation, the school confirmed that students would not return for the rest of the day. Police continued thorough searches of the premises as part of ongoing safety checks.
Authorities have not disclosed further details about the origin or content of the threat but confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
