The National Examination Council (NECO) has released the results for the 2024 Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE). Announcing the results in Minna, Niger State, NECO Registrar, Prof. Dantani Wushishi, revealed that out of the 1,376,436 candidates who sat for the exam, 828,284 (60.55%) earned credit in both English Language and Mathematics.

Wushishi also noted that 83.9% of the candidates secured five credits or more, regardless of English and Mathematics. Additionally, there was a reduction in malpractice cases, with 8,407 candidates involved in exam-related offenses, compared to 12,030 in 2023.

The 2024 SSCE was held from June 19 to July 26, with the marking exercise concluding on September 8. NECO also announced that 40 schools across 17 states were involved in mass cheating and will face a disciplinary panel. Furthermore, 21 supervisors have been blacklisted for misconduct, including extortion and drunkenness.
