Super Eagles winger Moses Simon is set to join an elite group of Nigerian footballers when he makes his 100th appearance for the national team.
Simon is closing in on the landmark as Nigeria prepare for their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign starting with Madagascar on Friday in Uyo, with the winger expected to feature prominently under head coach Eric Chelle.
The Paris FC forward would become only the fifth player to reach 100 appearances for Nigeria, joining Ahmed Musa, Vincent Enyeama, Joseph Yobo and Alex Iwobi.
Simon made his senior debut against Uganda on March 25, 2015, under interim coach Daniel Amokachi. Since then he has scored 12 goals in 99 appearances.
According to the NFF, the Super Eagles have recorded 49 wins, 30 draws and 20 defeats in the 99 matches in which Simon has featured. His appearances include 64 competitive matches and 35 friendlies, with 23 coming at Africa Cup of Nations finals and 22 in World Cup qualifiers.
