The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the results of the rescheduled 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for candidates affected by technical issues during the initial test sessions. The resit was organized to ensure fairness and equal opportunity for all candidates, particularly those whose examination centres experienced disruptions or technical glitches that prevented them from completing their exams as originally scheduled.
According to a statement by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, a total of 336,845 candidates were rescheduled to participate in the special examination. However, 21,082 of these candidates were absent on the day of the resit. While the board did not specify reasons for the high rate of absenteeism, it emphasized that all eligible candidates had been duly notified and given the opportunity to sit for the exam.
The rescheduled UTME was conducted under strict supervision to maintain the integrity of the examination process. JAMB reiterated its commitment to providing a level playing field for all candidates, regardless of the challenges encountered during the main examination. The board also assured the public that all necessary measures were taken to address the technical issues that led to the rescheduling, including isolating and excluding problematic sessions from the final results.
Candidates who participated in the resit can now check their results through the official JAMB portal using their registration details. The board encouraged candidates to promptly access their scores and begin preparations for the next stage of the admission process.
JAMB further stated that it remains dedicated to continuous improvement of its examination systems and will continue to work closely with stakeholders to ensure that future UTME exercises are free from technical hitches. The release of the resit results marks an important step in concluding the 2025 UTME cycle and moving forward with the admission process for tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
