Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka is set to miss up to four weeks after suffering a hamstring injury during the team’s 5-0 victory over Leeds United.

The 23-year-old pulled up with a problem in his left hamstring shortly after the second half began and was forced to leave the pitch.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta expressed concern after the match, describing the injury as “significant,” though scans later offered a more hopeful outlook.

The injury affects the opposite leg to the one that sidelined Saka for three months last season.

Saka will miss Arsenal’s upcoming trip to Liverpool this Sunday and is expected to be unavailable for up to six matches, including England’s World Cup 2026 qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia.

He may also miss fixtures against Nottingham Forest and potentially Manchester City and Newcastle United.

The absence of Saka is a significant blow for Arsenal’s attacking setup, but the team has strengthened its squad depth over the summer.

Players like Noni Madueke, Eberechi Eze, Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, and young talents Ethan Nwaneri and Max Dowman are expected to help cover for Saka’s time out.

Captain Martin Odegaard also left the match against Leeds early due to a shoulder injury and remains a doubt for the Liverpool game, adding to Arsenal’s injury concerns.

Additionally, German forward Kai Havertz is recovering from a knee injury sustained earlier in the season, leaving the team reliant on its broad squad to navigate the coming fixtures.

While the injury limits Arsenal’s options temporarily, there is cautious optimism that Saka’s recovery will not be as lengthy as initially feared, allowing him to return before the busy series of games ahead.
