An Air Peace flight operating from Lagos to Port Harcourt experienced a runway excursion upon landing at Port Harcourt International Airport on Sunday morning, July 13, 2025.
Flight P47190 veered slightly off the runway but landed safely, with no damage to the aircraft.
All 127 passengers on board disembarked calmly and safely, and no injuries were reported. Emergency personnel promptly evacuated the passengers, who were seen carrying their luggage away from the aircraft.
The airline’s spokesperson, Osifo-Whiskey Efe, confirmed the incident and reassured the public of Air Peace’s commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards.
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) also confirmed the event, noting that safety protocols were swiftly activated and that passengers were accounted for.
However, the incident is expected to cause delays for flights bound for Port Harcourt as investigations and runway checks continue.
Videos of the incident circulated on social media shortly after, showing the aircraft partially off the runway and passengers safely exiting.
