The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has clarified that it does not oversee the admissions process for Higher National Diploma (HND) students. In a recent statement, JAMB’s Spokesman, Fabian Benjamin, confirmed that the board’s jurisdiction is limited to its regular admissions and does not extend to HND or other higher institution programs.

The statement emphasized, “JAMB has no involvement, authority, or control over the admissions process for HND candidates. Claims suggesting otherwise are unfounded and irrelevant to JAMB’s mandate.”

This clarification follows complaints from HND students who alleged that JAMB’s policies were hindering their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) mobilization due to their part-time National Diploma (ND) programs.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is Nigeria’s examination body responsible for managing university admissions. It is crucial in setting the standards for tertiary education entry but does not handle HND admissions.
