A devastating auto accident at Imawa town along the Zaria – Kano highway in Kura Local Government Area has left at least 14 people dead. The incident, confirmed by Ibrahim Abdullahi, the sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Kano State, occurred shortly after Friday prayers when a truck lost control and collided with pedestrians.

Abdullahi recounted the details to reporters on Friday, underscoring the tragic aftermath of the collision involving a truck registered as MKA 537 XN. “We received a distress call at about 01:50 p.m. on June 28, 2024,” he stated. “Upon receiving the information, we promptly dispatched our personnel and vehicle to the scene.”

The sector commander expressed the FRSC’s unwavering commitment to road safety and urged all road users to adhere strictly to traffic regulations to prevent similar tragedies in the future. He extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and assured the public that investigations were underway to determine the exact circumstances that led to the fatal crash.
