The Lagos State Government has sealed off Pa Kasumu Adepeju Olaniyonu House, located at 22 Apongbon Street, Lagos Island, for deliberately discharging feces into public drainage, causing environmental pollution and endangering public health.

The state Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, disclosed the action on his official X handle. He emphasized that the occupants’ conduct created a public nuisance and posed a significant threat to the environment and human life in the area.

The enforcement was carried out by the Lagos State Wastewater Management Office (LSWMO) on August 27, 2025, in pursuit of a safer and cleaner Lagos.

Commissioner Wahab urged all Lagosians to adopt proper wastewater management and hygiene practices to enhance public health and environmental sustainability.

This action exemplifies the government’s zero-tolerance policy toward environmental pollution and its commitment to safeguarding the health and wellbeing of residents by enforcing existing environmental laws and regulations vigorously.
