The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has temporarily withdrawn the 2025 WASSCE results for School Candidates following the discovery of technical problems during an internal post-release review.

The issues stemmed from bugs in a newly introduced paper serialization system, which was designed to combat examination malpractice in critical subjects such as Mathematics, English Language, Biology, and Economics.

To address these concerns and uphold fairness and accuracy, WAEC has suspended access to the result checker portal for 24 hours to enable correction of the errors.

Candidates affected by this suspension are advised to revisit the portal after the restriction is lifted to access their updated results.

The Council has apologized sincerely for the disruption and reiterated its commitment to maintaining transparency and excellence in the examination process.

The Federal Ministry of Education has also confirmed the technical issue in an official press statement, emphasizing collaboration with WAEC to resolve the problem promptly.

This temporary withdrawal underscores WAEC’s proactive approach to ensuring the integrity of examination outcomes and its responsiveness to challenges arising from the adoption of new technologies.
