Hungarian international Milos Kerkez has signed a five-year contract with Liverpool, becoming the club’s third major signing of the summer. The 21-year-old left-back joins as part of an ambitious recruitment drive that has already seen the arrivals of attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz and right-back Jeremie Frimpong.

Liverpool secured Wirtz for a club-record fee of £116 million, including £16 million in potential add-ons, while Frimpong arrived for £29.5 million. Hungary Under-21 goalkeeper Armin Pecsi has also joined the club in a deal worth up to £1.5 million.

Kerkez expressed his excitement about the move, calling it a dream to join one of the world’s biggest clubs. He shared his eagerness to return quickly from a short break and begin preparations for the new season.

Liverpool’s summer business isn’t over yet. They are also set to complete the signing of Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia in a deal worth £25 million plus £4 million in add-ons.

For Kerkez, this move marks another step in a career that has already taken him to major European clubs. Back in 2021, he was personally convinced by Paolo Maldini to join AC Milan. However, the young defender never made a competitive appearance for the Italian giants and moved to AZ Alkmaar a year later.

Bournemouth then spotted his potential and signed him in July 2023. Kerkez went on to start every game in the 2024-25 Premier League season, playing a key role in helping the club achieve a record 56 points in the top flight — a performance that ultimately caught Liverpool’s attention.
