
Nigeria’s biggest music stars took center stage at the 17th Headies Awards ceremony held Sunday night at Lagos’ Landmark Event Centre, with Tems, Rema, Flavour and Davido emerging as major winners.
Tems claimed the Best Recording of the Year award for her hit single “Burning,” showcasing her vocal prowess during a memorable live performance. The win adds to her growing international acclaim following her Grammy success in recent years.
Rema continued his global dominance, winning Afrobeats Album of the Year for “HEIS” while his producer London earned Producer of the Year honors for the smash hit “OZEBA.” The young star’s energetic stage presence had fans cheering throughout the night.
Veteran artist Flavour took home Afrobeats Single of the Year for “Big Baller,” proving his enduring appeal in the industry. Meanwhile, Davido was recognized as Best Digital Artiste for his massive online following and streaming numbers.
The star-studded event saw Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in attendance alongside numerous celebrities. Special awards were presented to Governor Sanwo-Olu, media executive Alex Okosi and football administrator Amaju Pinnick for their contributions beyond music.
Other notable winners included Odumodublvck (Next Rated) and Tanzania’s Juma Jux (Best East African Artiste). The ceremony trended across social media platforms throughout the night, with fans celebrating African music’s continued global rise.
Now in its 17th year, The Headies maintained its reputation as Nigeria’s most prestigious music awards, honoring both established stars and emerging talents shaping the continent’s sound.
