Oluchi Mary, a content creator, entrepreneur, and mother of three, has been making waves with her inspiring story of resilience and determination. Despite becoming a right arm amputee due to Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM), she has turned her story into a platform for inspiration, sharing real-life content about motherhood, business, and living with a disability.
Oluchi Mary opens up about her journey, from her childhood to her current endeavors as a content creator and entrepreneur. She shares her experiences of combining business, motherhood, and content creation, and how she uses her platform to inspire others.
Oluchi Mary’s story is one of courage and determination. After being diagnosed with AVM in 2010, she underwent several surgeries, but her condition continued to deteriorate. In 2019, she made the difficult decision to undergo a below-elbow amputation to save her life. Today, she carries her story with pride, using it to inspire others to live boldly despite their challenges.
When asked about how she stays positive and shuts out negativity, especially on social media, Oluchi Mary says she has learned to focus on the love and support she receives from her community. She advises others who are struggling to be vocal about their conditions to embrace their stories and stop hiding. “Your condition is not your conclusion,” she says. “Don’t let fear silence your voice or shame steal your light.”
Oluchi Mary’s typical day is a balancing act between taking care of her children, managing her business, and creating content. She wakes up early to prepare her boys for school, then switches to work mode, attending to clients and planning content ideas. In the evenings, she spends time with her children, helping with homework and enjoying quality time together.
When asked for advice, Oluchi Mary encourages others to speak their truth, even if their voice shakes. “Your story has power,” she says. “Someone, somewhere, is waiting to hear it so they can find the courage to rise too.”
In a hypothetical scenario where she has a free-spending voucher for a week, Oluchi Mary would use it to create lasting memories with her children, invest in her kids’ clothing brand, and support fellow amputees and single mothers. “When we rise, we should lift others with us,” she says.
Oluchi Mary’s story is a testament to the human spirit’s capacity for resilience and determination. Despite facing numerous challenges, she has chosen to use her platform to inspire others, and her message of hope and courage is resonating with many.
