Nigerian travel content creator Alma Asinobi has made history as the first African to visit all seven continents with a Nigerian passport.

The 26-year-old embarked on a Guinness World Record attempt, completing her journey across Antarctica, North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia in 71 hours, 26 minutes, and 25 seconds.

Celebrating her achievement, Asinobi shared on Instagram, “Our Nigerian flag is officially the first and fastest flag to visit all seven continents! I guess my work here is done. I cannot wait to be homeeeee.”

Although she didn’t break the existing record set in February 2025 by American Air Force veteran Johnny Cruz Buckingham, who completed the journey in 64 hours, Asinobi’s attempt highlighted the challenges faced by Nigerians and Africans in global travel.

Prior to the journey, she announced her goal was to bring awareness to passport privilege issues and the travel restrictions many Nigerians experience.
