In a touching yet lighthearted exchange, Fuji music legend, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (K1 De Ultimate), shared a playful phone call with President Bola Tinubu on Saturday, January 18, 2025.
The President called to express his condolences over the passing of K1’s mother, offering prayers for her soul and words of comfort to the grieving music icon.
Tinubu, who has long enjoyed a cordial relationship with the Fuji maestro, emphasized the emotional toll of losing a mother and encouraged K1 to accept the loss as part of God’s will. He assured the music legend that he would not face hardship as a result of the loss, playfully reminding him of his support.
In a response filled with affection and humor, K1 reassured the President, saying, “You’re my father, and I’m your son. You cannot let me suffer. With you as President, Nigeria cannot suffer.” The two shared a few more jovial exchanges, with K1 vowing to remind Tinubu of the conversation if ever faced with distress, humorously adding, “You can’t be President and watch me suffer!”
Despite the somber occasion, the call exemplified the strong bond and mutual respect between the two, with K1 affirming his belief in Tinubu’s leadership and Nigeria’s future under his presidency.
