Nigerian superstar Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has achieved a historic milestone on Spotify Nigeria with his new single, Piece of My Heart, featuring American R&B sensation Brent Faiyaz. The track became the first song to surpass 1 million streams in a single day on Spotify Nigeria, recording 1.016 million streams.
This accomplishment has made Nigeria the 22nd country globally where a song has exceeded 1 million daily streams on the Spotify chart. Internationally, Piece of My Heart also debuted at number 90 on the Global Spotify Chart, garnering a total of 1.7 million streams. On its first day of release, the song accumulated 2.27 million streams worldwide.
With this achievement, Wizkid now holds the record for the biggest streaming debut by an African artist in Spotify’s history, further solidifying his influence and success on the global music scene.
