Afrobeats superstar Wizkid has achieved an unprecedented milestone as all the tracks from his newly released album, Morayo, occupy the top 17 spots on Apple Music Nigeria’s chart. This record-breaking feat occurred within 10 hours of the album’s release.
The album, launched on November 22, 2024, is a heartfelt tribute to his late mother, Juliana Morayo Balogun, who passed away in August 2023.
It was reported that Piece of My Heart, a standout single from the album, reached No. 4 on the U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart and No. 7 on the World Digital Song Sales chart. In addition, Morayo has shattered Nigeria’s streaming records, with one of its singles garnering 1.57 million Spotify streams on its first day.
Wizkid’s latest success reinforces his position as a trailblazer in the global Afrobeats scene, with fans and critics praising the album’s emotional depth and production quality.
