Timileyin Ajayi, a 32-year-old man, has confessed to murdering his girlfriend, Salome Eleojo Adaidu, a 24-year-old member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). The tragic incident occurred at Ajayi’s residence in the Papalana area of New Karshi, Karu Local Government Area, Nasarawa State, Nigeria.
Salome, who was serving at Nicon Insurance in Abuja, visited Ajayi before being killed and dismembered. Ajayi was arrested on January 12, 2025, while attempting to dispose of her remains.
During his parade at the Nasarawa Police Command headquarters, Ajayi admitted to committing the crime out of jealousy, claiming he discovered conversations between Salome and other men on her phone.
In his statement, he said, “I killed her because we don’t have each other all the time. It wasn’t planned; it just happened. She was cheating. I saw her chats with other guys on the phone.”
When asked about his remorse, he said, “I don’t have any regrets because life is reciprocal. I felt we were compatible, but she hid things from me.”
The Nasarawa Police Command has confirmed that Ajayi remains in custody at the Criminal Investigation Department in Lafia as investigations continue.
