Controversial activist, Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has raised the alarm over the theft of over N180 million from his NGO’s account after it was reportedly hacked.
Otse, who launched the Martins Vincent Osei Initiative in October, had raised more than N35 million in donations within hours, including a generous N100 million contribution from renowned music producer Michael Collins Ajereh, also known as Don Jazzy.
In a video shared on Instagram, Otse disclosed that the stolen funds were transferred to an unknown account. “Honestly, I’ve not been myself for the past few days,” he said. “Somebody hacked into the NGO website, and N180 million is missing. Thankfully, we’ve tracked the person, and one suspect has been arrested.”
According to Otse, the NGO’s account is now on “Post No Debit” (PND), with N160 million missing and only N20 million remaining. He added that he is heading to Jos to recover the stolen funds and has temporarily shut down the NGO’s app for maintenance to prevent further breaches. Otse assured the public that updates on the situation would be provided as investigations continue.
