In a heartwarming display of respect and admiration, Prince (Dr.) Adeleye Afonja, an oncologist based in the United States, US, has extended his warmest congratulations to Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja on his ascension to the revered throne of the Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The Komu-born philanthropist Afonja, who was spotted at an occasion in Lagos recently expressed his joy and pride in seeing a distinguished son of Ibadanland ascend to this esteemed position, noting that he was thrilled by the development.
“I am thrilled to congratulate Oba Rashidi Ladoja on his ascension to the throne of the Olubadan of Ibadanland. His wealth of experience in business and politics will undoubtedly be a valuable asset in driving progress and development in Ibadanland and this would influence the entire chieftaincy institution in the Southwest.”
Afonja, a sports role model who has established himself as a prominent figure in the medical field in the US, attributed Ladoja’s success to the values and principles instilled in him by his community and family. He believes that Oba Ladoja’s appointment will usher in a new era of progress and development for Ibadanland.
“I have no doubt that Oba Ladoja’s leadership will bring about positive change and prosperity to our beloved Ibadanland and of course the entire Southwest,” he added.

“I wish the entire Ibadan community peace, prosperity, and harmony under Oba Ladoja’s leadership.This is the first time in the entire country when we are having a former senator, governor and entrepreneur becoming a king. This celebration belongs to all Yorubaland;” he said.
