A 400-level Mathematics student at the University of Ilorin (Unilorin), Kazeem Sanusi, has etched his name into history by setting a new Guinness World Record for the Longest Mathematics Lesson Ever Delivered. The remarkable feat, which lasted an astounding 31 hours, 42 minutes, and 54 seconds, surpassed the previous record of 26 hours, cementing Sanusi’s place among global academic achievers.
The marathon lecture, held under the watchful eyes of official Guinness World Record representatives, drew a captivated audience, including the university’s top officials, faculty members, and fellow students. Among the dignitaries present were the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Egbewole (SAN); the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Management Services), Prof. Adegboyega Fawole; the Registrar, Mr. Mansur Alfanla; and the Dean of Physical Sciences, Prof. Abdullahi Alafara Baba. Also in attendance were the Acting Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Alex Akanmu, and the Student Union President, Comrade Victor Agezeh, who cheered Sanusi on throughout the grueling intellectual endurance test.
In a statement released by the university’s Director of Information, Kunle Akogun, the institution expressed pride in Sanusi’s achievement, noting that he is now awaiting official certification from the Guinness World Records.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Egbewole lauded the young scholar, stating, “We are immensely proud of Kazeem’s extraordinary accomplishment.
