The United Kingdom is set to issue 45,000 seasonal worker visas in 2025 to address labor shortages in the agriculture and poultry industries. The program allocates 43,000 visas for horticulture, covering roles in fruit and vegetable picking and flower cultivation, while 2,000 visas will support poultry processing, specifically from October to December.

This initiative aims to ensure food security and stability in the agricultural sector. Food Security Minister Daniel Zeichner emphasized the importance of these roles, stating, “Food security is national security, and we are committed to supporting food and farming businesses.” The government intends this plan to provide growers and producers with the certainty needed to secure essential labor.

Visa holders must have valid sponsorship from a UK employer and meet health, safety, and financial requirements. Conversion to other visa types is not permitted, and holders must return home after their employment ends.
