Former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury announced his retirement from boxing on Monday, January 13, 2024, sharing the news via social media. The 36-year-old fighter, known as the “Gypsy King,” made a brief statement, saying, “I’m going to make this short and sweet. I’d like to announce my retirement from boxing. It’s been a blast, I’ve loved every single minute of it.”

Fury’s last fight took place in December 2024, when he lost his rematch against Oleksandr Usyk in Riyadh. Following the defeat, Fury had hinted at the possibility of retirement, stating, “You might do, you might not do. Who knows?”

Fury’s decision to retire follows a career marked by triumph and controversy. The British boxer claimed the heavyweight title twice and finished his career with an impressive record of 34 wins, two losses, and one draw. Despite previous retirements, including after defeating Dillian Whyte in April 2022, Fury has made several comebacks, leaving fans to question whether this will be his final exit from the sport.
